
IMPHAL, January 17 (NNN): The number of Omicron cases in Manipur rose to 39 with the detection of 32 more cases on Monday. The Health department said that 32 Omicron cases were detected in various districts of the state. However, the Health department did not give further details about the development. The Health department then advised all to adhere to COVID appropriate behavior and vaccinate fully, saying “Be alert and do not panic”. Masks were found effective against all variants of COVID-19, it added. It can be mentioned here that the first Omicron case in Manipur was detected on December 27 after a man who returned from Tanzania was tested positive for the disease. Later, it rose to seven when six more people including three close contacts of the first case were tested positive for the new variant that is spreading fast in the country.
