Manipur: Two women arrested with heroin worth Rs 2.35 crore

Two alleged women drug paddlers were arrested by Manipur police along with heroin valued over Rs 2.35 crore in the international market.

The arrested women have been identified as Sk Philachan of Senapati district and Nanao ZS of Imphal East district, police said. 

A team of Imphal East district police commandos arrested them during an operation at a place under Senapati police station on Friday afternoon, police said. The police added that the team including women police personnel, acting on reliable information, rushed to the place regarding concealment of a consignment of the contraband drugs at a house in the village, after providing prior information to the Senapati district police. During  raid on a suspected house, the team intercepted 88 soap-cases containing heroin and detained the two women in the house.

Apart from confiscating the drugs value about Rs 2,35,00,000 in the international market, the police also recovered two mobile phones and one Aadhaar card from their possessions. 

The arrested women along with the seized items were handed over to Senapati police station for taking up necessary legal actions against them.
