Manipur witnessed a surge in the daily Test Positivity Rate (TPR) as the rate stood at 3.7% on Sunday. The state reported seven new cases of COVID-19 out of 190 samples tested for the virus. The rate is 3.7% compared to the previous day’s 1.1%. The seven fresh cases took the infection tally of the state to 1,37,156 while the fatality toll remained unchanged at 2,120 as no death link to the disease was reported on the day for the 25th consecutive day.
The state has currently 44 active cases even as the recovery tally rose to 1,34,992 with the discharge of four patients upon recuperation on the day. The recovery rate remained at 98.42%. The fresh cases were reported from Imphal West (3), Thoubal (2) and Ukhrul (2).
Meanwhile, the cumulative number of doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered in the state so far rose to 28,04,205 with 700 more people being jabbed on Saturday.
As many as 11,88,390 people were fully vaccinated with the first and second doses while a total of 15,48,006 people were vaccinated with the first dose. Besides, 67,809 people have received the precautionary or booster dose of the vaccine so far.
As many as 50.76% of the eligible population of the state have been administered with both doses of the vaccine while 61.58% have received the first dose, according to the latest data from the state health department.
