Manipur’s COVID-19 case tally rises

Manipur on Sunday recorded an increase in the COVID-19 active cases as the tally rose to 30 against previous day’s 25.

No patient was discharged on the day even as five fresh cases were detected in the state during the last 24 hours, said the latest bulletin of the state health department.

The five fresh cases took the infection tally of the state to 1,39,787 while the fatality toll remained unchanged at 2,148 with no death linked to the disease reported on the day.

Also, the recovery tally remained unchanged at 1,37,609 as no patient was discharged upon recovery on the day. The recovery rate, however, declined to 98.44% against the previous day’s 98.45%.

The five fresh cases were detected upon testing of 285 samples and the test positivity rate of the day was 1.8%.

The fresh cases were reported in two districts with three in Imphal East and two in Churachandpur district.

The total doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered in the state so far rose to 32,16,717 with 711 more people being vaccinated on Saturday.

In the state, out of 16,39,845 people who got the first dose of the vaccine, so far 13,18,437 of them received the second dose. As many as 2,58,435 people have also taken the precautionary dose so far, the health bulletin added.
