Pungro, June 18 (MExN): Many government offices in Pungro Town under Kiphire District have reportedly remained locked or non-functional for an extended period, according to the Yimkhiung Youth Organisation (YYO).
This observation followed a two-day inspection of all government offices in the town carried out by the YYO on June 12 and 13. The purpose of the inspection was to assess performance, identify shortcomings, and understand the challenges faced by these offices. The YYO also held constructive interactions with the officers and staff during the visit, it stated in a press release.
However, the inspection revealed several operational deficiencies that the organisation said need urgent attention, expressing concern over the prolonged closure or inactivity of some offices.
In response, the YYO affirmed its commitment to assisting the concerned offices in addressing the issues to ensure better efficiency and accountability, and to provide quality services to the public. “We will explore every possible avenue to resolve the issues faced by the offices,” it added.
The organisation has also directed the concerned offices to rectify the identified lapses without delay. Further, it urged all government officials and staff posted in Yimkhiung areas to carry out their duties with integrity.
It cautioned that irregular and non-performing offices will face stern action from the organisation.
