Mao Baptist Church Shajouba celebrates platinum jubilee

Senapati, December 16 (MExN): Mao Baptist Church Shajouba celebrated its Platinum Jubilee at Shajouba Village in Senapati, Manipur to mark 75 years of Christianity under the theme ‘His truth endureth to all Generations’ on December 15 and 16. 

The celebration event started with the unveiling of monolith and releases of the Peace Flag along with balloons to commemorate the platinum jubilee and followed by the dedication of New Church Building on December 15, a press note received here stated.

In the welcome address, A Kapani, Pastor, MBC Shajouba greeted the congregations and ‘briefed about the struggle and the pained of nine person, who were the pioneers in establishing MBC Shajouba.’ A Kokho, Pastor, MBC Makhel exhorted the gathering. Rev A Kaihrii, Pastor, MBC Tadubi was the theme speaker. 

Rev H Chakho, Pastor MBC Chowanamai and A Neli, Youth Secretary, MBCA presented Bible reading from Old Testament and New Testament.

The programme began with invocation by Rev Loli Kape, Former Principal, ACI, Punanamie, followed by ‘Hymn of Praise: Jubilee Theme song.’ Sunday School of MBC Shajouba presented a special number and also MBC Kaibi Choirs a presented a song. Introduction and presentation was done by A Ashuli, Convenor, Program Organising Committee. Dedication and release of the Jubilee Souvenir was led by Rev S Mangaili, Sr Pastor MBC Rabunamie. 

New Church Building Committee Secretary, B Loli presented the detail report of the new Church building, while offertory prayer was pronounced by P James, Pastor, MBC Tobufii. 

Representatives from Poumai Naga Baptist Association, Maram Naga Baptist Association, Thangal Naga Baptist Association and Pastors from different Churches also attended the programme. It was reported that a total of around 3000 delegates from different churches took part in the Platinum Jubilee celebration.
