
DIMAPUR, MAY 31 (MExN): As a follow up action to the Naga People’s Convention (NPC) and United Naga Council (UNC) declaration on November 4, 2005 at Tahamzam, the Mao Council at its General Body meeting has renamed ‘Mao Hoho’ as ‘Memei Hoho’.
Henceforth, ‘Memei’ will be used instead of ‘Mao’ in all official concerns and other applications with the Government of Manipur and the Government of India informed Adani Choro, President Memei Hoho in a release.
The Memei Hoho, reaffirming the NPC and UNC declarations, has also directed all the organizations, villages, places which do not have the indigenous name to rename it immediately and to submit the action taken to the Hoho’s office.
“Any questions or objections in any form under any circumstances on the directives by any organizations, group or individuals will not be entertained” it was added.
