Capacity building programme for Nodal Teachers of Atal Tinkering Labs (ATLs) was held in Dimapur on May 12 and 13.

DIMAPUR, MAY 15 (MExN): A two day capacity building programme for Nodal Teachers of Atal Tinkering Labs (ATLs) was held at the Government Higher Secondary School, Dimapur on May 12 and 13.
The program was conducted to generate curiosity, critical thinking among the students of Nagaland using 21st century skills. A total of 9 ATLs have been established in Nagaland under this effort.
The programme was based on the objectives of Atal Innovation Mission, NEP-2020 and Samagra Shiksha, Centre of Research & Excellence for Advanced Technology in Education (CREATE)-UNISED in collaboration with IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur &Samagra Shiksha, Nagaland.
The innovative and integrated program was conducted with the guidance of Avaneesh Tripathi, National Program Advisor, Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan and Policy Advisor to Government of India and other dignitaries and participants of Nagaland.
Liyalo Apon, Deputy Mission Director, Samagra Shiksha, Nagaland inaugurated the program along with Frieda, Assistant District Coordinator, Dimapur and other dignitaries from the national and state level.
Apon highlighted the effort of UNISED and IITs as mentoring institutions for implementing diverse innovations in education through Atal Tinkering Labs as well as RAA Labs. He assured support and cooperation by Samagra Shiksha Nagaland and all concerned district education administrations.
RN Lenka, CEO & Director, Pedagogy, Research & Innovation, Centre of Research & Excellence for Advanced Technology in Education (CREATE) - UNISED, Research Park, IIT Guwahati and National Resource Person for RAA, Pedagogy, Quality & Innovation highlighted the Pedagogical Perspectives of Atal Tinkering Labs in North Eastern States.
Rashmi Kumari, Assistant Program Director, UNISED coordinated the program. Anurag Pandey, Sr Project Engineer, IIT Kanpur took a session on sound and optics through virtual mode and S Kartikeyan conducted sessions on practical mentoring and tinkering like Mechanical Modular Components (MMCK) Kit, Robotics Kit, prototyping tools including 3D printer.
The program was conducted with the support of principal and team of GHSS, Dimapur and team UNISED along with participants from 9 selected schools with ATLs.
