Dimapur, March 18 (MExN): A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on March 18 between the Nagaland State Cooperative Marketing and Consumers Federation Limited (MARCOFED) and Bharatiya Beej Sahakari Samiti Limited (BBSSL) to strengthen cooperative initiatives in the agriculture and allied sectors.
Under the agreement, MARCOFED will act as the channel partner for Nagaland, facilitating the implementation, coordination and promotion of BBSSL’s programmes across the State.
The collaboration aims to enhance agricultural productivity, support farmers and promote sustainable development through cooperative efforts, informed a release from MARCOFED.
The MoU is expected to strengthen synergy between the two organisations in advancing the interests of the farming community and reinforcing the cooperative movement in Nagaland, it added.
BBSSL is a national-level multi-state cooperative society focused on the production, procurement and distribution of quality seeds, and on supporting farmers through improved access to modern agricultural inputs and technologies.
