The blockading of the Mariani-Mokokchung road (NH 702-D) by the All Assam Students Union (AASU) and civil organizations in Sonowal, Mariani bordering Mokokchung district continued for the 6th day on November 21.
Following heightened tension on the Nagaland side during the day on November 20, the situation was stated to be normal, as per the Mokokchung police.
There was no report of any untoward incident. According to official sources, the Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung has started contacting its Jorhat counterpart to resolve the matter. The Jorhat administration was said to be aware of the matter but was still to take up discussions at an official level with the Mokokchung administration.
