Niuland, November 11 (MExN): Zhaleo Rio, IAS (Rtd), Advisor to the Government of Nagaland and Member to the Nagaland Legislative Assembly from 5 Ghaspani II Assembly Constituency on November 11 visited the victims and the site at Old Showuba Village under Niuland district where a market area on the afternoon of November 10 (Sunday) 2024 was completely devastated by fire.
The Deputy Commissioner Niuland Sara S Jamir in a press release stated that though no human casualty was reported, the blaze had affected all the stalls, shops causing complete damage.
The Advisor was accompanied by Sara S Jamir, DC Niuland and Tiayanger Jamir Sub-Divisional Officer Niuland and Kuhuboto, Village Council Old Showuba and GBs of the village.
As an immediate relief to the fire victims, the DC Niuland extended monetary assistance of Rs 5000 each to the victims through the Emergency Relief Fund.
The Advisor expressed his appreciation to the District Administration Niuland, Fire & Emergency Services, Power Department and the local residents of Old Showuba for promptly attending to the disaster which had prevented further escalation of the fire. He has asked the Village Council and the District Administration to submit a detail report along with all documentation to the Government for further assistance to the victims of the fire incident.
