Dimapur, December 19 (MExN): In memory of an incident where in 1956 Naga people were fighting for their sovereignty, NNC leader A.Z.Phizo came to New Puilwa and took shelter in a Cave near New Puilwa village and also hid there their arms and ammunition which is named Phizo Cave, there a market shed was inaugurated on December 10. This comes after a request by the villagers of New Puilwa to the Parliamentary Secretary R.D. to construct a memorial structure near the cave and later to construct a market shed near the.
Project Director of DRDA, Kelei Zeliang, Peren inaugurated a market shed constructed by DRDA. The Project Director said Pangnyu Phom was a Block Development Officer before he entered in to active politics for which he has all the detail knowledge about the department of rural development. With the vast experience and knowledge he has in the working mechanism of the rural development department has been stream lined to a great extend. He explicated that Pangnyu Phom is a man of vision and keen to uplift the people of back ward areas and added that the department of rural development is fortunate to have him as their Parliamentary Secretary.
The Chairman of the function, Hialung, Head G.B. of the village extended his gratitude to Pangnyu Phom for constructing the market shed which will benefit New Puilwa village as well as other surrounding villages. The Pastor of the village and other village leaders also spoke in the meeting appreciating the Parliamentary Secretary R.D. and the Project Director, DRDA Peren for creating an invaluable asset in the village.
