Angangba, July 25 (MExN): With the objective of creating shared working space for Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) to “nurture the capacity of the locals and improve their access to market”, a marketing and sales platform was inaugurated in Angangba village, Tuensang.

Built with the support of NABARD and implemented by the Angangba Village Council with technical support of Better Life Foundation, a non-profit working with local farmers, the Rural Marketing Haat was inaugurated on July 25, stated a press release received here.

NABARD, DGM, SC Sahoo along with the Angangba Village, Head GB C. Tokyu inaugurated the Rural Marketing Haat.

This marketing haat built next to the NH 202 will act as the primary collection centre of agricultural and horticultural produce for Angangba as well as marketing site for the produce of the local farmers. Angangba Village currently has more than 50 farmers who have been shifted to sustainable horticulture with the intervention of NABARD's Tribal Development Fund's ‘Wadi project.’

The Rural Haat will empower them to sell their primary produce of Apples, Kiwi and Cardamom, the release added.
