Mass cleanliness drive along Seicierü river on today

Kohima, February 27 (MExN): The Nagaland Pollution Control Board (NPCB), in partnership with the Kohima District Administration and the Kohima Municipal Council (KMC), has announced a mass drainage cleanliness drive along the Seicierü river and its upper tributaries. The drive is scheduled for February 28, beginning at 7:00 AM from Hotel Fira and the Red Cross Building, and will conclude at Para Medical Junction along NH-29.

Residents, shopkeepers, and business establishments in Officer Hill Colony (Ward-10), Para Medical and Merhulietsa Colony (Ward-18), as well as Supply Colony, Lower Jail Colony, and Lower PR Hill Colony (Ward-19) have been requested to actively participate in the initiative. Citizens are encouraged to bring basic cleaning tools such as shovels, daos, and rakes, while gloves, refreshments, sacks, and other essential materials will be provided. The Kohima Municipal Council, along with colony authorities, will deploy garbage trucks to ensure proper collection of accumulated waste.

Colony authorities have been tasked with overseeing the cleanliness drive within their respective areas to ensure full coverage. Deputy Commissioner of Kohima, B. Henok Buchem, NCS, has urged residents to extend their full cooperation to make the initiative a success.
