A state wide social work was carried out in Nagaland in pursuance with the declaration made by the state government on April 21.
In Kohima, respective colonies, some organizations and political parties joined the social work today to keep the capital city clean and to prevent any unfortunate incident. The denizens involved in cleaning culverts, drains, water loggings, streets, office and residential compounds etc.
The Naga Hospital colony fully supported and participated in the state-wide mass social work along with the rest of the colonies in Kohima.
The residents of the colony cleared the main drainage adjacent to the National Highway 29 which passes through the colony and as well filled up the potholes on the national highway and the connecting roads.
DIMAPUR: Volunteers participate in the social work in Dimapur on April 21. Dimapur citizens witnessed a cleaner city after a mass social work was carried out in all the 23 wards under the supervision of GBs and ward Chairmen.
MOKOKCHUNG: Clean Mokokchung Campaign organised by the Mokokchung Police and led by Dinesh Gupta, SDPO, Mokokchung organised its second cleanliness drive where people, both young and old, from different walks of life took part on April 21.
LONGLENG: Despite bad weather the citizens of Longleng participated in the mass social work along with the rest of the districts on April 21. The social work was conducted under the supervision of the District Administration, Government officers, NGOs, Educational institutions, Ward leaders, Business Establishment & Chamber of Commerce. Besides the district headquarter mass social work was also conducted in all the sub-division of Longleng.
MON: As a part of the Monsoon preparedness, Mon town organised a mass social work on April 21. Work distribution was given to different departments along with the nodal officer where they were assigned to work in different locations and junctions with attendance taken strictly. They cleaned the drainages, cleared the blocked drains, mowed weeds on the roads apart from cleaning their office compound. Under the business establishment, the shop owners were assigned to clean their respective shops and cleared the drains which have been block. The Ward executives and GBs also took initiatives in their respective areas in cleaning their wards, roads and clearing the drainages.
The Naga Hospital Colony Panchayats and the Naga Hospital Colony Youth Organization thanked NLA Keneizhakho Nakhro for providing an excavator (JCB) and a tipper truck to the colony during the mass social work which made the herculean task a successful one. NDPP Kohima region also joined the social work.
Peren: The District Administration in consonance with the direction of the government organised the social work across Peren. In the district headquarters, all district Head of Offices conducted a social work within their respective Office premises to clean up foliage and drainages. Those departments which are housed within the DC office complex took part to clean in and around the complex. The PHED department volunteered and offered light refreshments to all the participants after the mass social work.
At Peren town, all the ward chairman and GBs mobilised mass social work in their respective wards and colonies, to clean up shrubs and drainages. The social work was supervised by Chubawati Chang, ADC Peren and assisted by Additional SP and SDO PWD (R&B) Peren respectively. Mass social work was also conducted successfully at Jalukie, Tening and Ahthibung, with respective administrative heads supervising the social work. Villages across the district also conducted mass social work successfully.
Phek: Mass social work was held in and around Phek Town with employees of the government, semi government and the public of the Phek Town. The Deputy Commissioner, Phek expressed gratitude to the department and the public of Phek Town dwellers for successful conducted of the mass social work.
Wokha: Along with the rest of the state, Wokha district conducted mass social work in all the colonies, wards and government offices. The social work was done under the supervision of the District Administration let by the Deputy Commissioner Wokha, Dr. Manazir Jeelani Samoon, IAS, he visited almost all the colonies, wards and government offices to monitor the work.
Zunheboto: As part of the state wide mass social work, the Zunheboto District Disaster Management carried out a voluntary mass social work in all wards and villages under Zunheboto. The District Administration has thanked various sponsors for contributing towards the social work, HODs, GBs, ZRSU Officials, ZCCI and all the citizens for their cooperation.
Pughoboto: In Pughoboto, the cleanliness drive was supervised and monitored by the administrators, the GBs of the respective colonies of Pughoboto led and initiated the social work with the residents of colony. The government employees also carried out the drive effectively in their offices and its surroundings. The participants cleared the clogged drains, thick weeds, bottles, polythene bags etc. Drains, footpaths and streets were cleaned by the Jawans, Adhoc Town Council and others.
