Mass social work in Kohima on June 21

KOHIMA, JUNE 18 (MExN): A mass social work will be conducted across Kohima district on June 21 (Saturday) from 7 AM onwards, as per a circular issued by Deputy Commissioner Kohima, B. Henok Buchem. The initiative aims to promote cleanliness and community participation in the district.

A detailed work distribution plan has been issued for the DC Office and other district offices under Kohima headquarters. Heads of Offices have been directed to ensure preparedness and active involvement of their staff. Participants are required to bring necessary tools and large sacks for garbage collection and disposal.

Team Leaders have been instructed to coordinate with designated officers to arrange vehicles and machinery for garbage disposal by June 20. All waste collected is to be disposed of at the Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) dumping site in Meriema. Heads of Offices must ensure that no garbage is left in the assigned areas after completion of the work.

Attendance of participants is to be recorded and submitted to the Deputy Commissioner on the same day. Administrative Officers in outpost areas have been instructed to carry out similar activities in their respective jurisdictions.

The Chairman of KMC has been requested to mobilise colonies and wards through ward councillors to ensure maximum participation. The CEO of KMC has also been directed to instruct Kohima Chamber of Commerce and Industries (KCCI) to take responsibility for the TCP Gate to Keziekie stretch, involving business establishments in the cleaning drive.
