Jalukie, June 11 (MExN): A massive landslide struck NH 129A Peren-Dimapur Road (Package-II) in Old Jalukie (Upper) around midnight on June 10 last, severely affecting connectivity in the region. The incident has led to significant debris blockage, making the affected stretch temporarily impassable, stated Izailu Siarau, Contract of NHIDCL in a press release.
“Construction Company is actively working to clear the slide and restore normal traffic flow. Authorities advise commuters to avoid the affected area and instead use the designated diversion route via Old Jalukie to Peren Old Road for safe travel,” Siarau stated.
Travelers have been urged to exercise caution and stay updated on further developments. Emergency response teams are monitoring the situation closely to ensure swift clearance and public safety, he added.
