WOKHA, JUNE 2 (MExN): Maternal Child Health (MCH) cum sterilization camp was organized by District Health Society Wokha, Department of Health and Family Welfare Nagaland at Ralan Primary Health Centre (PHC), Wokha on June 1.
Dr Zubenthung Kikon, Chief Medical Officer in his address said the outreach camp was organized with the aim of providing free health services and family planning services for beneficiaries in Ralan area. Dr Kikon extended his gratitude to the Medical Directorate, Eleutheros Christian Society, district administration, gynecologist, eye specialist and village councils of Ralan area for their support in conducting the outreach camp.
Some of the health services provided were blood pressure screening, ENT, immunization, dental, blood sugar test, general medical checkup, generation of Chief Minister’s Health Insurance Card etc. The beneficiaries were also provided with free medicines and IEC leaflets on family planning, maternal and child health.
During the sterilization camp, tubectomy was performed on more than 14 beneficiaries from Ralan and Bhandari by Dr Yanrenthung Jami, Senior Medical Officer (Obs & Gynae) District Hospital Dimapur. The tubectomy beneficiaries, who were mostly from economically weak section, expressed their gratitude to the medical department for organizing the sterilization camp.
The outreach camp was held with the support of CMO staffs, medical officers and staffs from various vertical programmes such Mobile Medical Unit, Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram, ASHAs, medical staffs of Ralan PHC, Tongtongo and Liphayan Health and Wellness Centres.
New Ralan Village chairman Wothungo Humtsoe thanked the medical department for conducting the camp. More than 230 beneficiaries availed the free health services during the MCH cum sterilization camp.
