Kohima, May 29 (MExN): The Higher Secondary Schools have been reminded that with the changes brought in by the University Grants Commission (UGC) regarding admission to BA Economics (Honours) under Choice Based Credit System (CBCS), students who are intending to go for BA Economics (Honours) needs to have Mathematics as one of the subjects at the Higher Secondary level. This policy will be adopted by Nagaland University as well as other Universities across the country, stated a DIPR report.
Therefore, all Heads of Higher Secondary Schools offering Economics subject as an elective subject have been requested to take note of the changes taking place in the educational eco-system and are encouraged to take necessary actions so that students who are desiring to study B.A. Economics (Honours) in the future are not deprived of the opportunity.
Further, Heads of institutions have been requested to disseminate the information and sensitize the students during the time of admission to help students choose the correct subject combination at an early stage.
This was issued in reference to the Nagaland University letter No.NU/ECO/ACA-6/06-411 dated 10th June 2022 and in continuation to Nagaland Board of School Education Office Notification No.64/2022 dated 15th June 2022.
