Matter is amicably resolved with Lotha Hoho: NSCN (IM)

DIMAPUR, MARCH 15 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) today clarified on the ultimatum issued by the 10 organisations of the Lotha community regarding alleged statements made by a member of the NSCN (IM) at a meeting in Bhandari. A press note from the MIP of the NSCN (IM) stated that the person concerned has denied making any such statements, “which was also substantiated by the Lotha Lower Range people’s organization.”

It informed that the NSCN (IM) Home Secretary had in a letter dated March 2 clarified to the Lotha Hoho assuring that “nothing of such threat to 25 Lotha intellectuals exists.”

Terming the ultimatum as unfortunate, the NSCN (IM) informed that it held a meeting with the Lotha Hoho on March 11. “With utmost respect to each other and with much cordiality, various issues were also discussed along with the matter in concern. Lotha Hoho also extended fullest support to the Naga political issue,” it stated.

On the issue of Oil and Natural gas, the NSCN (IM) made it clear that the moratorium order of the Yaruiwo dated August 10, 2013 is still in force. “At no point of time NSCN leaders who convened the meeting with the Lotha Hoho dated 11/03/2016 neither commented nor spoke on the PIL filed by Lotha Hoho at the Indian court,” it further clarified.

Regarding the “internal conflict concerning the nomenclature of Lotha apex body,” NSCN (IM) refused to interfere at this point of time and advised them to sort it out within the Lotha community.

“Ultimatum being served to NSCN by Lotha Hoho was discussed in good spirit and laid bare the non-existent threat and sinister design being played by elements which is antagonist to Naga unity. Having come to such positive understanding, NSCN in good faith believes that the matter in question is amicably resolved from that day,” the NSCN (IM) said.

It appreciated the “concern and wisdom shared by Lotha Hoho on various matters,” and solicited the support and encouragement of Lotha Hoho “in our journey together in resolving the Naga political issue.”
