A Matter Of Fact: Who Are Employed & Unemployed???

This article is written in good faith to make the record straight and let the Government and the Public in general differentiate the two words i.e. Employed & Unemployed, which had been misconstrued time and again. As we had witnessed unprecedented raise in unemployment problem in Nagaland if we look into the statistical Data as per Government sources. However, the Government had failed to Examine and takes it into account the Ground reality or real Scenario. According to Oxford Dictionary, Employment means “the action of Employing or the state of being employed in a business, calling, craft, job, livelihood, métier, occupation, per suit, vocation or work. Hence, the word employed denotes a person is active, busy, earning, engaged, hired, involved in work, occupied, practicing or working.  On the other hand, Unemployment means “the state of being Unemployed.Hence, the word Unemployed denotes a person is jobless, laid-off, on the dole, out of work, redundant or unwaged.”
In view of the above explanations, we can sum up the differences between Employed & Unemployed by briefly describing it as follows:-
• Any person who is Employed in a Public Sector or Private sector even for a day, month or year getting financial benefit is  “Employed”
•  Any person who is jobless neither in Public Sector nor in Private sector is an “Unemployed”.
Therefore, the Government and the public should clearly examine and differentiate while dealing or using this two word for any Official purposes, so as not to have any Negative repercussions to the society and the Government.   As it has been observed that many of our Educated Naga Youths who are employed full time in Private sectors had the habit of calling themselves Unemployed unless they are employed in Nagaland Governments Job. This is completely ridiculous and a non-sense notion. This attitude on Unemployed had even confused the Government and the Public and had even given a lot of wastage on Government Exchequer from day one. As the Government had to dole out lakhs and crores in giving subsidies or loan for self-employment even to those who are employed in private sectors. We have educated unemployed union in our state and even the Govt.Employment Department, who had to take the lead in checking this sort of educated youths employed in private sectors and squeezing the resources, opportunities and even tarnishing the image of those genuine Educated and Jobless youths.    The Govt.had to come out with some stricture guidelines in the form of a Public & Private Sector Employment Act to monitor the haphazard system of our system. Infact, it is an offence in the eye of law to declare oneself unemployed giving false information and this may instead jeopardize their career if relevant sections of IPC/CrPC are applied.
