DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 15 (MExN): A press release announcing the decision of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) in Nagaland for the very first time was issued by the party’s National General Secretary and Incharge of North-East States, Dr. Suresh Mane. With this decision of Mayawati, the party’s National President , the State Office is said to have been established at Dimapur and BSP has announced their decision to contest the coming assembly election. It stated that the BSP would not form an alliance with any other political party but solely under the local leadership committed to the cause. The National General Secretary further informed that the names of the State Committee and other office bearers of the party would be declared in November, 2007.
The press note went on to say that as the party of the ‘neglected people and neglected issues’, the BSP did not rely on election manifestos as the party policy was “No-Manifesto-No-Promises-But only performance”. The party informed that in Nagaland, BSP would function not with the traditional style of established leadership but with the help of ‘new, fresh, educated committed missionary cadres’ that would give a new direction to the drafted politics of Nagaland.
Outlining the ‘past sufferings’ of the Nagas like social, educational, economic and political and its struggles for ‘self-identity, assertion, dignity and self respect, the party stated that this was the reality of not just the downtrodden in Nagaland but the suffering of Schedule Castes, Tribes, Minorities, Other Backward Classes and the poor people in other states of India. It went on to add that after several earlier pioneers before the mission of uniting all sections of the downtrodden people was started by BSP founder, Kanshi Ranji on April 14, 1984 and at present the same struggle under the leadership of National President and Chief Minister of Utter Pradesh, Mayawati, the party was “marching ahead to capture the political power in Dehli very soon”. Welcoming all into the party fold for the change of political culture of Nagaland, good and transparent governance system, self respect and dignified life with peace and prosperity, the BSP said that as the number three National Political Party, it was ready to form its own government in Delhi, with Mayawati as the Prime Minister of the Country.
