
Kohima, February 22 (MExN): Model Christian College (MCC) organized a workshop on Choice Based Credit System for its faculty and staff on February 15 wherein the structure of the system was familiarized.
Dr Seyiekhrielie Whiso, Assistant Professor, Department of English, and Tisovi Meyese, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics and Deputy Controller of Examinations, Kohima Science College, Jotsoma were the resource persons.
An add-on course with the theme 'Skill Development Programme for Students in Advance Technologies' was conducted by Telcocrats Technologies Pvt Ltd, Mohali, Punjab from February 10 – 15 for 3-4 hours each day. The programme was the first of its kind to be conducted in any college in Nagaland, said a press release.
Kapil Bhutani, Director, Telcocrats Technologies Pvt Ltd and his assistant, Praveen Vangala were the resource persons. It included the following courses: Installation and Maintenance of Photocopiers and Printers, Optical Fiber Splicer, Optical Fiber Technician, and Embedded System Design. Altogether 90 students from the 4th and 6th semesters participated in the programme.
Career conclave on ‘Aviation and Hospitability’
A career conclave on ‘Aviation and Hospitability’ was also conducted on February 21. It was organised by Trig Empowering Institute (TEI), the only partner institute of Youth Net outside Nagaland. Resource person Shyamanga Protim Kashyap, Founder, TEI said the vision of TEI is to empower the youth of North East. He stressed that the institute aims to make the youth industry ready and help them make the right choices and career moves at their doorstep. Being equipped with state of the art features and facilities, the institute requires highly-brained people, he said, while adding that with affordable fees, TEI guarantees hundred percent placement. Kashyap was accompanied by Aching Hansing, Vocational Trainer, and Akuku, Blogger and Influencer. Altogether, degree students from both Science and Arts attended the conclave.
