Mokokchung | August 8 : Mokokchung Chamber of Commerce and Industries (MCCI) inaugurated its new office complex this evening, the inaugural of which was witnessed by leaders of the town’s business community. The new MCCI office complex is housed at the erstwhile Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC) office complex, adjacent to the Old Town Hall, Mokokchung.
Senior Advisor of MCCI and Mokokchung’s business mogul, M.Bendangnukshi Longkumer while delivering an exhortation at the function congratulated the MCCI on their inaugural of the new office
complex and reminded that business community that the MCCI, since the days of its founding, envisages communal harmony. He also called upon the members of the business community to be united and “set an example of a secular state.” While observing that Mokokchung’s business people need to maintain good rapport with their counterparts in nearby commercial centres like Jorhat, Amguri and Dimapur, he also added that it is time to “take broader strides” in the field of trade and commerce in
Mokokchung.
The inaugural function was chaired by the office bearers of the MCCI while Rev.O Yashi, Pastor of Süngkomen Baptist Church, pronounced the dedicatory prayer. The inaugural was followed by an ‘executive committee meeting’ of the MCCI wherein several important issues were discussed during the proceedings. The MCCI celebrates its 25th anniversary next year.
