
Mokokchung, October 28 (MExN): The Mokokchung Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MCCI) has issued various directives to business establishments with regard to paying taxes to illegal tax collectors, purchasing ticketed items, trade permits and other etiquettes.
In a release from its President Tsukti Longkumer and General Secretary Limalenden Longkumer, it has re-informed members of business community “not to entertain any illegal tax collectors or persons of dubious identity seeking donations in cash or kind.”
Further, shops and business establishments in Mokokchung have also been instructed “not to entertain anybody engaged in selling calendars, concert or buffet tickets, lottery or raffle tickets and other similar items.”
The MCCI has also instructed all traders and shops in Mokokchung town, in view of the latest circular issued by the Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC), “to possess proper trade permits issued by MMC in their respective places of business and display proper signboards indicating their Trade Permit number and name of shop.“
“All shops and business establishments are also required to place proper waste bins. Meat shops, fish stalls and restaurants are to display latest rate board in their respective places of business and their staffs are required to wear apron or appropriate clothing,” the notice further maintained.
Meanwhile, the ADC & Administrator, MMC W Manpai Phom, in a separate notice has also informed all concerned that MMC officials will conduct checking of town from November 5 and that defaulters will be held liable for penalty. He also asked all concerned to whitewash their respective buildings/shop in preparation of Christmas and New Year festivals within the first week of December 2018.
