MCCIA Mumbai team on visit to Nagaland

Dimapur Chamber of Commerce & Industries (DCCI) on Tuesday accorded a warm reception to members of the Maharashtra Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Agriculture (MCCIA), Mumbai, who are on a 5-day visit to Nagaland.  

The DCCI led by its president, Akashe Zhimomi, received the MMCIA members at Dimapur Airport and thereafter took their visiting counterparts to a luncheon at Niathu Resort.  

During the informal interaction at Niathu Resort, DCCI president, Akashe Zhimomi, welcomed the visiting MCCIA delegates to the “Land of festivals” and wished that their short stay would be meaningful and fruitful. The DCCI president expressed optimism that the coming together and interaction among the business community of Nagaland and Maharashtra would prove beneficial to both parties concerned.  

Dr. Khegugha Murru, spokesperson DCCI, also said the second visit of MCCIA would hopefully materialize into something concrete and promote further business ties between the two states.   Secretary DCCI, V Shikuto Achumi, said the presence of 5 women in the 11-member MCCIA delegation was an encouraging sign, especially for women entrepreneurs.  

President MCCIA, Santosh Mandlecha, who spoke on behalf of the MCCIA delegation said the Maharashtra Chamber was visiting Nagaland to see what kind of business can be generated in the state and also to assist their Naga counterparts to develop their own industry and enterprises. Mandlecha said this time the MCCIA has also come with a proposal to both Nagaland Governor and chief minister for business tie up between the two states and further assured that MCCIA was ever ready to provide logistic and other supports.  

The visit, a part of the ‘Assisting Nagaland industry, trade and business’, was sponsored by Indian National Fellowship Centre, Mumbai.  

After the luncheon, the MCCIA team left for Kohima where they are scheduled to meet Nagaland Governor besides other engagements.
