Mokokchung College of Teacher Education celebrated their 11th foundation day at the college premises on February 12.
Mokokchung, February 13 (MExN): The Mokokchung College of Teacher Education (MCTE) celebrated their 11th foundation day on February 12 at the college premises. The formal programme was chaired by Kerilhusa Peseyie, Assistant Professor, MCTE.
Speaking on ‘My Vision for the College’ E Phongle, General Secretary, MCTESU spoke about teacher education in the college as a process of refinement. He called upon the student-teachers to “play a pivotal role towards inculcating values of peace, liberty, equality and justice among the budding minds of Nagaland”.
Dr Temsurenla, Vice Principal, MCTE, speaking n the ‘Significance of the Day’ said it a day of not just retrospection but also of introspection. She recollected her experiences as a teacher at MCTE and encouraged student-teachers to live by the college motto, “Anvil of Knowledge”.
The programme concluded with an extempore speech competition where members from different clubs participated. The first place was awarded to Imchamanen, Cultural Club, second place to Olempenla, Aesthetic Club and third place to Kitheli Yepthomi, Drama & Music Club.
