MCTE organizes ‘Counselling for Teachers’ workshop

MOKOKCHUNG, APRIL 10 (MExN): The IQAC, Mentoring and Counselling Cell, Mokokchung College of Teacher Education sponsored a one day workshop on ‘Counselling for Teachers’ on April 9 at the college. The resource person for the event was Alemrenla Jamir, Co-founder of Wellness 10:31, Educator and Counsellor.

The program was addressed by Dr Temsurenla, Vice-Principal of the college, followed by four different sessions resourced on the following areas—‘Teacher the Facilitator,’ ‘Understanding Different Types of Students and Approaches Towards Them,’ and ‘Counselling Skills and Commitment of a Teacher.’ 

The workshop highlighted the importance of teaching as an eternal commitment, focusing on teaching as the most noble, sensitive and respected profession. The resource person emphasized the different techniques and skills as a teacher to help children see reality as it is and not as it appears.

The workshop concluded with discussion and feedback from the student-teachers, faculties and the resource person.
