MOKOKCHUNG, JANUARY 7 (MExN): Titans CC and Team Bendangsunep registered easy wins on the third day of the MDCA tournament played at Imkongmeren Sports Complex today. Titans defeated DC XI by 57 runs in the first match of the day.
Titans batting first scored a mammoth 170 runs with Rohit contributing 74 runs and Longsa contributing 19 runs. Alemwapang took 3 wickets for the DC XI team while Tsukmen and Sushil Kumar took 2 wickets each. Chasing the huge target DC XI were bowled out for 128 runs with Noksang and Sushil Kumar scoring 29 and 23 runs respectively. Merenti was the Titans pick of the bowlers scalping 3 wickets and Rohit chipped in with 2 wickets. With today's win, Titans CC became the first team to make it to the Quarter Finals of the 2016 edition.
In the second match of the day, Team Bendangsunep beat Sovran by 7 wickets. Sovran batting first were bowled out for just 68 runs with only Lensanir reaching the double figure. He scored 11 runs. The chief destroyer with the ball for Team Bendangsunep was Imnayanger(4/12) who blew away the Sovran top order with his tight line and pace attack. Chasing the small target of 69 runs, Team Bendangsunep finished the match in just 11 overs losing 3 wickets in the process. Sonu top scored with 33 runs. Imliwati took 2 wickets while Jonathan took 1 wicket for Sovran.
