MDTOA goes on strike in Mkg

Mokokchung, May 8 (MExN): The Mokokchung District Truck Owners Association (MDTOA) will stop plying of ‘goods carrier’ vehicles indefinitely within Mokokchung district from 6:00AM, May 9 due to bad road conditions along the Mokokchung-Mariani road. A press release received here today from the MDTOA President, Sentilemba and General Secretary, Senti Walling said that the association is “compelled to go on a strike” because the concerned authority “have turned a deaf ear” to their request. “Their lackluster attitude of not even filling of the pot holes or even remove the earth piled up by its workers (MKG-Mariani Road) is very frustrating and insulting to MDTOA and the public in general,” the release stated. The Association therefore stated that though it has an endeavor to transport goods for the convenience of the public, “yet it cannot risk the safety of the vehicle and the driver”. “Since this being the common cause, we pray that all will abide by this call,” the release added.
