The MDVA men’s and women’s teams with the trophies after the welcome reception at Imkongmeren Sports Complex on November 26.
Mokokchung, November 26 (MExN): The District Administration and Mokokchung District Volleyball Association (MDVA) today received the players from the district who emerged as champions of the 18th All Nagaland Inter- District Volleyball Tournament 2021 in the men’s category and runner-up in the women’s category.
The formal reception was held at Imkongmeren Sports Complex after they arrived from Kohima with the trophies today.
The MDVA Team Manager in his report informed that this is the 9th time that the team has won the championship.
The team manager further lauded the women’s team who performed much better than they anticipated and bagged the runner-up title. He said that apart from lifting their respective titles, Pursenla from the MDVA women’s team was adjudged as the Best Libero in women’s category and from the men’s team Best Libero, Best Setter and Best Spiker awards were were received by Moasunep, Sarilepzung and Tongpangsunep respectively.
On behalf of the District Administration, EAC Ongpangkong, Sangpangchang Longkumer congratulated both the teams for bringing laurels to the district. He further encouraged the players to keep honing their skills and use it to the utmost potential.
Meanwhile, senior MDVA senior executive, Meren Jamir, Kilip and MDVA Vice President Allen Imchen also spoke at the function.
