Measures adopted on free text books distribution

DIMAPUR, OCT 7 (MExN): The School Education Department has adopted several measures to accomplish their objective of necessary distribution of free text books to school children and to check the sale of text books meant for distribution. This was stated in an official news bulletin.

Director School Education, Nipusilie Angami said that clear instructions were given to the publisher to print ‘Not for Sale’ in all the text books. He said that this is done to prevent middle-men from selling the text books.

The Director said that a common store will be set up at Dimapur and it will be manned by a Nodal Officer from the Department to conduct verification and receipt of the books from the publisher.

Nipusilie further said that the Nodal Officer will be made responsible for issuing text books to all the districts for onward distribution to school children. He said that the Department is making a determined effort to ensure timely distribution of text books from the next academic session.

In an effort to provide education to all, the State Government is providing free text books up to class VIII in backward districts and up to class IV in advanced districts.
