Medical Association Kohima mourns

Kohima, February 4 (MExN): The Indian Medical Association (IMA), Kohima Branch has deeply mourned the loss of its colleague and member, Dr. Neilavinuo Solo. IMA Kohima president in a condolence note informed that Dr. Neilavinuo joined state service after completing her MD in Anesthesiology from AIIMS. During her far too brief life, she administered as HoD of Anesthesiology & Intensive Care at NHAK, oversaw St. Mary's Nursing Home as Proprietor & Managing Director and served as visiting consultant in private hospitals in Kohima. In these capacities and many more, Dr. Neilavinuo proved herself to be an invaluable asset to the medical community of our state, the note acknowledged.

“Dr. Neilavinuo will be remembered as a consummate professional and an exacting practitioner who neither compromised on the quality of her work nor did she tolerate substandard work from others,” the note said. Further, it recognized the deceased as a strict disciplinarian, steadfast and meticulous in all her works. “Her determination and capacity for hard work earned our admiration and respect, as did her ability to balance her professional, social and personal life.”

A woman with a heart for service, the note stated, Dr. Neilavinuo was actively involved in social and humanitarian work. She served as Chairperson of the PR Hill Panchayat, Member of Rotary Club, Kohima, Member IMA, Kohima among others.
