DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 24 (MExN): The Assam Rifles along with PHC, Athibung organised a medical camp for villagers and students of Green Valley School, Nikio B.
A press note from the headmaster of the school informed that most of the students of this residential school are orphans and can't afford basic medical treatment on frequently basis. School and village authorities approached the Jalukie battalion to conduct the medical camp.
A part of the camp, an awareness drive will be carried on Measles and Rubella vaccination from October 3 to 12.
The camp activities also included blood tests for Malaria, HIV, Blood grouping and rh typing; medical checkup and distribution of medicines to patients; counseling of villagers on AIDS; and distribution of sports items for students.
248 students and villagers attended the camp and availed free checkup & treatment. Dr Vezo Kholu, PHC Ahthibung led her team from the state health department, while DPO, Rovi and Hiareu counseled the villagers and teachers on AIDS.
