Medical Camp conducted at Old Soget village

Peren, July 7 (MExN): Ahthibung Region Club (ARC) in collaboration with PHC, Ahthibung and CCA (Cultural Club Ahthibung) conducted a Medical Camp at Old Soget village on July 7.


A press release from Henpu Kuki, Vice Chairman, ARC stated monsoon increases problems in many folds for the villagers of remote areas, where all “kaccha tracks get filled with mud and slash which restricts any vehicle movement.” It sated that children and old persons get flu and other monsoon related diseases often. As such, the medical camp was initiated, since “lack of proper medical infrastructures makes the situation worse,” the ARC stated.


Nearly 202 villagers including new born and old persons were got treated by Dr Vezokholu khamo, PHC Athibung and her team. On the spot malaria, HB and HIV tests were conducted. CCA conducted a skit and a lecture on AIDS prevention for the villagers. They also distributed condoms and pamphlets in the camp. Villagers urged ARC authorities to organize such camps at frequent occasions for the benefit of public in the region, the release added.
