Medumneo festival celebrated in Tsg

The Yimchunger community of Tuensang town today celebrated Medumneo festival, premier festival of Yimchunger Nagas with much pomp and traditional gaiety.  

Speaking on the occasion as the chief guest, Parliamentary Secretary for Municipal Affairs and Economics & Statistics R. Tohanba said that festival is a time for rejoice, reconciliation, forgive and forget any past misdeeds and set new approach to move forward in every field.  

He called upon the people to maintain peace and unity, adding that peaceful atmosphere is the first and foremost thing towards grand celebration of any festival.  

Also speaking on the occasion as guest of honour, Parliamentary Secretary for Horticulture, DB's & GB's Affairs Kejong Chang stressed on the need to develop friendship and maintain peace and unity among the Nagas for all round development of the state.  

Earlier, Yimchunger Union Tuensang Town president Khusang delivered welcome address while M. Bombahkiu briefed significance of Medumneo. The programme was chaired by A. Apong.  

Folk song, traditional attire show also marked the festival and it concluded with Medumneo feast.
