Medziphema, December 5 (MExN): Medziphema Town GB Union has drawn the attention of Food and Civil Supplies Department, Dimapur stating that Priority Household (PHH) card holders are entitled to 5 kg of rice per head per month, however only 4 kg of rice per head is distributed to general public. The Union in a press release issued by the General Secretary Rokovitso Kuotsu questioned, “Why the sanctioned quantity is is not being distributed. Where is 1 (one) kg per head per month is being diverted?”
The Union also said that some PHH card holders are not able to get their due share as the quantity sanctioned by the concern department is not sufficient. While stating that PHH holders should get sugar through PDS but till date no sugar has been distributed, the Union also queried “why is the department not able to distribute sugar to the common public.”
“The department must clarify the matter and look that the poor people are not deprived of their genuine rights,” the Union demanded.
