Medziphema, April 23 (MExN): The Medziphema Town Mechü Krotho (MTMK) and the Medziphema Town Women Organisation (MTWO) today issued a statement accusing the state government of being “indifferent and callous” to their demands.
Stating that it was constrained to issue the press release, the Mechü Krotho (Public Organisation) and the women’s organization pointed to the Road Repair work carried out from Zero point, Town junction to SASRD Gate, Medziphema, and accused the state government of being “apathetic” to the issue.
“It should be noted that the Road Repair Work Order had an allocation of Rs. 47,07,000 whereas the contractor repaired only potholes which deteriorated within the first month of the work being completed,” the two organizations alleged.
“The demand of the Medziphema Town Youth Organisation (MTYO) on this issue which remain unfulfilled till date despite repeated write-up published in the local dailies,” it added.
The MTMK and the MTWO also accused the present state government of still not resolving the Infrastructure Development work at Medziphema Town which was started in 2015. “Despite the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the two contending parties, all works have come to a grinding halt,” the two bodies claimed. In this regard, the MTMK and the MTWO reiterated the stand of MTYO and vowed that it will “pursue the matter until it reaches a logical conclusion”.
