Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Dimapur, ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Jharnapani, Medziphema gave trainings to students of Medziphema GHSS students on importance of nutritional garden and package of practices of kharif crops.

MEDZIPHEMA, MAY 19 (MExN): Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Dimapur, ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Jharnapani, Medziphema on May 16 gave training to classes 9 and 10 students of Medziphema Government Higher Secondary School students on the topic, “Importance of Nutritional Garden and Package of Practices of Kharif Crops.”
Dr Phool Kumari, Senior Scientist and Head, KVK gave a brief introduction of the role and activities of KVK for backing up the farming community, upliftment of school dropouts, educated unemployed, SHGs, etc.
She encouraged the students to visit KVK demonstration farm to get more detailed information of agricultural activities and the various technologies which will prove helpful for any of their family members or known people who are farmers.
Dr Bendangla Imsong, Chief Technical Officer (Plant Breeding & Genetics) shared the importance of agriculture and the package of practices for major kharif crops. Method demonstration on nursery plot layout, seed sowing, spacing, manure application was also made known to the students. Dr Moanaro, Prog Asstt shared about the importance of nutrition. Earlier, the programme was chaired by Hengam, Vice-Principal and vote of thanks proposed by Merenchila Phom, Principal of the GHSS, Medziphema wherein she appreciated the efforts of the KVK officials to provide training and demonstration to the students. Altogether there were 86 participants.
