Medziphema, May 23 (MExN): Advisor Urban Development & Municipal Affairs Department, Zhaleo Rio inaugurated the Medziphema Town Council office at the City Centre, Medziphema on May 23.

A DIPR report stated that Advisor Zhaleo Rio said the Medziphema Town Council (MTC) office was a befitting building established for all. He encouraged all the youths to come forward for trade and commerce, and the building should be utilised and generate revenue for the Medziphema sub-division. 

He said that City Centre Medziphema was a first of its kind in the state and Town Council should utilise it to the optimum. City Centre Medziphema will serve all tribes under MTC and urged them to maintain the building and set a good example for all, Zhaleo emphasised. 

He reminded the gathering regarding the Chief Minister Micro-financing start-up loan businesses for youths. Zhaleo also talked about his dream project of building a Health Centre/Ayush hospital and called for the cooperation and support of the public.

ADC & Administrator, Medziphema Imsongmeren explained the concept of the MTC office and how Advisor Zhaleo Rio conceptualised the City Centre. He gave a brief report on the historical establishment of MTC which was set up in 2005 and consists of 9 wards. 

The first floor is for offices, the top floor is for setting up hotels, and the building is for business establishments for the benefit of the general public.

Short speeches were delivered by Addl Director & HOD, Municipal Affairs Department Solesul Tholre, and Miathou Krose, CEB Vice President, CEB, NDPP. Vote of thanks was delivered by SDO (C) Medziphema, Selemla. Invocation was said by Rev. ZhabuTerhuja, Pastor Town Baptist Church ‘A’ Medziphema Town.

The programme was attended by 7th AR; Vice Presidents President NDPP A/C Ghaspani 5, surrounding villages, senior leaders, GBs, and special invitees.
