ICAR Nagaland Centre at Medziphema organized training for Veterinary Field Assistant student in collaboration with Veterinary Field Assistant Training Institute Medziphema.
Medziphema, May 8 (MExN): ICAR Nagaland Centre at Medziphema organized five-day training programme for Veterinary Field Assistant (VFA) student in collaboration with Veterinary Field Assistant Training Institute Medziphema.
The students were given hands on exposure to scientific management of pig and poultry. There were theoretical lectures as well as practical demonstration on pig and poultry. Artificial insemination technology in pig was shown to the students. Besides, students were exposed to bio-security maintenance at animal farm.
Speaking on the valedictory day, Dr H Inato Jimomi, Principal, VFATI, Medziphema said that this was the first time that VFA students are exposed to modern livestock technologies developed by ICAR and he appreciated the team of ICAR Nagaland Centre. He urged the students to take pig and poultry as business opportunities after completion of their diploma.
Dr H Kalita, Joint Director, ICAR Nagaland Centre exhorted the student to come up with new solutions in the field of animal husbandry. He said that Nagaland will be self sufficient in animal source food when all the stakeholders will jointly work together.
A press release received here stated that the training was coordinated by Dr Mahak Singh, Scientist and Dr Ebibeni Nguillie, ACTO KVK Dimapur. All together 70 VFA students attended the training in two batches.
