Dimapur, August 25 (MExN): Apropos to the news report which appeared in local dailies on August 25, 2011 in which Kohima Police arrested 3 extortionists from BOC area, Kohima, the Medziphema Village Council has issued a clarification. The note appended by Rokovor Kuotsu, chairman, and Neisakuolie Siam, secretary of MVC stated that one of the arrested person, Zhalie, S/o Lhoubeilie who claims to belong to Medziphema village is totally false, malicious and an attempt to tarnish the image of the village.
MVC stated in the note “Zhalie is a total stranger to us and neither he nor any of his family is an inhabitant/member of our village”. In this regard, the Village Council would like to urge upon the responsible authority to immediately take note of the clarification and take action against the said person for impersonation and malicious statement. On the other hand, MVC also demanded Zhalie to immediately tender unconditional apology to the Village Council for trying to damage and malign the name of the village failing which, it added ‘we shall not be held responsible for any actions befalling “you” at any time’.
