Meeting on Registration of Births and Deaths held

Bhandari, November 15 (MExN): District level Inter-Departmental co-ordination committee meeting on Registration of Births and Deaths was held on November 14 at SDO (C) official chamber.   District Economics & Statistics Officer and District Registrar of Births & Deaths (DESO), Wokha, A Chubathung Ezung, during the meeting apprised the members about the importance of keeping proper reports pertaining to registration of births and deaths, where he stated that, by 2020 Government of India targets to maintain 100% registration of births and deaths and urged all line departments to support and give the reports on time.   DESO also informed that, under Wokha district there are 109 registration units in rural areas, 2 (two) under urban area and 16 registration units in hospitals, Primary Health Centre and Community Health Centers. He also insisted on collection of births certificates on time in order to maintain accurate records.   During the meeting the members suggested to organize trainings to sensitize the registrars, Asha and Anganwadi Workers to improve/strengthen the registration process and for submission of authenticate reports.
