Meeting reviews Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana

Kohima, May 28 (MExN): A review meeting for Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY) under the Department of Rural Development was held on May 26 at the Chief Secretary's conference hall.  

The meeting, chaired by Chief Secretary Pankaj Kumar, IAS, deliberated on the latest status report on Seluophe SAGY village adopted by MP (Lok Sabha) and Ikishe SAGY village adopted by MP (Rajya Sabha).  

Addressing the meeting, Kumar advised the line departments to implement the proposed schemes with clear cut guidelines. 

He also requested the HoDs of the line departments concerned to personally visit the villages at the earliest and thoroughly inspect whether the proposed projects are feasible to implement.  

"If there are some projects that are not feasible, irrational or illogical, we should not go ahead with the project," he said, adding that the works implemented should be need based.  

The Chief Secretary also expressed his displeasure over the absence of some of the line departments and requested them to positively attend the next review meeting which will be held in the month of July.  

Rural Development Secretary Kelei Zeliang presented a PowerPoint on the latest work status as on April 6, 2016 of the village development plan of Ikishe and Seluophe villages under SAGY.  

The meeting was attended by officials from RD, representatives from line departments, including Land Resources department, Youth Resources and Sports, Agriculture department, Social Welfare, Horticulture, Education, Industry and Commerce, Naga Hoho and PHE department.
