
Friendship Day celebration Leo Club of Dimapur is organising 'Friendship Day Celebration Programme' at the Lions Club premises in Midland, Dimapur on August 7 from 2:30 pm onwards. Apart from the few live performances, the programme will witness special performance by the Voice of Nagaland choir. There will also be a Battle of Dance Clubs, where different dance institutions in the town will compete with each other. Mr. and Miss Friendship Day contest will also be organised during the event. The passes for the event will be available at the venue. International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples will be observed at Kohima College on August 9 at 10:00 am with the theme ‘Protect Our Rights, Our Lands’. The programme is being organized by Nagaland People’s Movement for Human Rights (NPMHR) in collaboration with Kohima College Alumni Association. The keynote address will be delivered by Secretary General NPMHR, Neingulo Krome. ZSUN-KSU meeting The Zeliangrong Students’ Union, Nagaland (ZSUN) has informed all its federating units that there will be an emergency Presidential Council Meeting along with Kuki Students’ Union on August 9 at Peren Council Hall. According to a press release from ZSUN Information & Publicity Secretary, Plamdibo Nchang, the meeting has been called owing to the failure to respond to its last agitation regarding the “backdoor appointment” of 16 non-Zeliangrong and Kuki Primary Teachers under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA). All the units have been requested to attend the said meeting. ANAHTA general meeting There will be an emergency general meeting of All Nagaland Aggrieved Hindi Teachers’ Association (ANAHTA) on August 11, 10:00 am at APO conference hall, opposite Oking Hospital, Kohima. The meeting has been called to discuss various matters related to the grievance of ANAHTA, informed ANAHTA Co-convenor, Sorenthung and requested all the members to attend the meeting without fail. Membership fees will be collected during the meeting. Therefore, members have been requested to bring their membership fee along with two passport photos and obtain their membership card. Nagaland Bar Association The Nagaland Bar Association (NBA) will hold an ‘Extra-Ordinary General Body Meeting’ on August 12, 11:00 am at the NBA room, Deputy Commissioner’s office, Dimapur to discuss issues pertaining to the Writ Petition filed by the NBA before the Gauhati Court.
