Mega Gospel Concert in Kohima on October 12

The Urban Faith Production (UFP) is presenting a Mega Gospel Concert at NBCC Hall Kohima on October 12 from 5:00 PM onwards. This gospel concert focuses on reaching out to the youth who are too much engaged in the secular world and making them reconnect with Jesus Christ through music, arts and performances. The concert will feature many prominent local musicians, artists and performers.
Alobo Naga
Recipient of Governor’s Award 2015 for distinction in music, Alobo Naga is an artist, composer and a songwriter and one of the most popular artistes from North East India.
Front man of Alobo Naga and The Band, and winner of 2012 ‘Best Indian Act’ at MTV European Music Award, he holds a Licentiate in Music performance certificate in Contemporary Vocals, from Rock School, London, the first from India to pass the exam.
He started expressing his passion for music at the tender age of 5 and by the age of 11 he began writing and performing his original composition. He is also a composer, producer and writes music for films, TV shows, jingles etc.
In 2017 and 2016, he performed over 125 shows across the world and in 2015 he did over 150 shows, making him the highest performing artiste in India in a single year.
He won Indihut artiste of the year for 2014 and 2015. Alobo had opened for many International Bands and Artistes like Hoobastank, MLTR, Jennifer Batten, Petra and many more besides performing in all the biggest festivals across the world.
Alobo is also the brand ambassador for the Swacch Bharat Abhiyan for Nagaland appointed by the Governor of Nagaland in 2015. He is also the Nagaland State Icon for the SVEEP Campaign in the state awarded by the Election Commission of India.
Dreamz Unlimited
Dreamz Unlimited (DU) Nagaland is a theater and film production house based in Dimapur which came into being in the year 2008. DU “comprises of 10-11 young people, some of them work full-time while some are still students”.
They have performed plays based on social issues mixed with satire and humour for churches, civil societies, NGOs and Government Department with the motto “Bringing a change.”
Together, they switch between presenting plays on stage and short acts on YouTube based on social issues. They have a YouTube channel where they consistently upload short videos on the trending topics. At present, it has more than 2,80,000 subscribers which is the highest in the state. Founder and Director of DU, Tiakumzuk Aier was adjudged winner of Golden Calton best Director Award for their film 'Nana'.
They also received the 17th Governor’s award for distinction in arts this year. DU have come a long way and now with huge fan base following across the country and abroad, this group of young talented actors has become a household name to many and not forgetting their trademark Hoishey!
Tali Angh
Tali Angh is a writer, performer amongst the new breed of working musicians in Nagaland “who live to tell a story and have a heart and a vision to rise up responsible musicians to make positive impact and to transform the world.”
He debuted with the album, “Take it slow” in November 2014. He has traveled around performing within and outside the state as well as visited many schools and colleges as part of "love life livery" tour which is an initiative of Tali Angh Music.
Besides performing, he had been a Naga idol judges for five consecutive seasons and actively involved in the church as worship leader. He conducts workshop on songwriting to rise up original and genuine artist with excellence with special emphasis on developing craft and character as an artist.
He has been associated with Delhi based NGO LIVE JAM, a youth oriented organisation focused on reaching the youth especially in schools and colleges and promoting music and media as channels of life, hope, peace and purity for the new generation.
He also signed an Endorsement with Grail guitar, Music Shack International.
Virie
Virie is a singer, songwriter and performer from Kohima, who has stayed true to being an indie-Pop artist since the start of her music career.
She became a household name when her cover of Lorde’s hit single, “Yellow Flicker Beat” went viral. Her debut single, “Silver Lining Skies” feat Polar Lights bagged her “Best Collaboration of the Year” in the first edition of the Indihut Music Awards in 2015 and also the “Best Rock Song” award at Music Awards of Nagaland. Her latest is “Lost”.
Divine Connection
Formed in 2004, Divine Connection is a multi faceted Band which experiments with Rock, Blues, Funk Jazz, Hindi and contemporary Gospel Music.
Divine Connection believes that young people can enjoy life and music without the influence of Drugs, Sex, Alcohol and Violence. They won the hearts of many after winning the MTV India Desi beats 'Rock on' 2010.
Divine Connection has also earned themselves headlining slots at college fests and major music events and eventually performing alongside international sensations.
Divine connection has a list of performances with fellow musician across the world. To name a few, they have shared stage with bands such as Dub L.F.O (Israel), Too late Lucy (UK) etc. They have also played alongside Indian bands like Parikarma, Raghu Dixit, Pt. Vishwa Mohan Bhatt and many more.
Andrew Thong
A Radical Christian gospel singer-songwriter and composer, Andrew is a self taught musician and a dedicated Christian who has a unique style and taste in music. Andrew’s love and passion for music started at the age of 7 and began to perform in churches as early as 12 where he got his first experience as a performer.
His aspiration to become an accomplished artist led him to discover his song writing skills when he turned 19. His debut album was “For His Glory”.
Seyievinuo Chuzho
Concert artist, singer and songwriter, whose journey started off as a finalist of Kids for Fame 2009 Second Season. She is also the winner of NE Body Can Sing 2017-a Reality Show Cum Music Competition of North East organised by North Eastern Service, All India Radio.
She is also the founder of Deliverance Ministry Nagaland (Youth Ministry). Adding a feather to her cap, she is also the Winner of Kohima Sekrenyi Road Show 2010. Winner of Xoomax 2016 and a finalist of Kids for fame 2009.
Rengma Baptist Church Kohima Choir
Led by RBCK Music Director, Gideon Mesen, Rengma Baptist Church Kohima Choir consists of a mixture of young people from different background. They are the winner of the Kohima Baptist Youth Fellowship Choral Competition in 2015 and 2017. Besides performing at different places, the choir group has also presented special songs during the Nagaland Legislative Assembly Pre-Christmas at State banquet hall and Durbar hall, Raj Bhavan.
Ethnic Future
Ethnic Future is a dance troupe consists of various dance artists from Kohima town under Dream Corp. A team of dance enthusiasts who performs on not only Western Dance but also incorporates Folk fusion dances and have represented Nagaland and India in various international events in South Korea and Malaysia.
