Shillong, October 26 (MExN): The Meghalaya Government has signed Memorandum of Agreement for 50 MW Wah Umiam Stage-I and 100 MW Wah Umiam Stage-II Hydro Electric Projects with NEEPCO on October 25 last.
On behalf of Government of Meghalaya, agreement was signed by DD Shira, Joint Secretary, Power Department in the presence of Dy Chief Minister of Meghalaya, P Tynsong, Pravin Bakshi, Commissioner & Secretary (Power) and other Officers. From NEEPCO, Anil Kumar, Director (Personnel) signed MoA in presence of B Maharana, Director (Finance), A Choudhury, Executive Director (Corporate Planning) and other officers.
A press release received here stated that the Dy CM Tynsong assured all help to NEEPCO for early clearances on the part of the State Government required for expeditious development of various projects.
Anil Kumar, Director (Personnel), NEEPCO assured that NEEPCO is fully capable of and geared up for development of these projects in the State and is wholeheartedly committed to implement on fast track mode with all support and cooperation of the State Government.
B Maharana, Director (Finance), NEEPCO expressed that NEEPCO having vast experience in the sector along with requisite resources shall be able to execute the Projects in an expeditious manner which shall result to capacity addition as well as significant socio-economic upliftment of the area.
