Kohima, December 30 (MExN): The Kiruphema Youth Organisation (KYO) held its 49th wrestling meet cum KYO day on December 29 with Vineikho Sechü, PS to Minister for Women Resource Development & Horticulture, Govt of Nagaland as special guest and Silietuo Visienyü, Head GB Kiruphema Bawe as guest of honour.
Addressing the wrestling meet cum KYO Day, Vineikho Sechü urged the youth to aspire for professionalism, emphasizing the importance of maintaining good health and discipline. He also said “The youth are the backbone of our society, and it is crucial that they embrace professionalism, prioritize their health, and uphold discipline in all aspects of life.”
Sechü encouraged the youth to actively engage in community development and aspire to become great future leaders. “Your potential is limitless, and with dedication and hard work, you can contribute significantly to the betterment of our community and society at large. Embrace the responsibilities that come with leadership and make a positive impact,” he asserted.
In senior category, Megotsolie Suohumvü emerged as the championship, Megovizo Visienyü as second, Neilhouvito Suohumvü and Neizelhouto Suohumvü bagged 3rd and 4th respectively, while in junior category, Keviseyie Visienyü was the champion, Peteseto Mor as 2nd, Kevisizo Dahou and Zapuvizo Hesielie were 3rd and 4th, altogether 53 wrestlers participated.
The guest of honour for the evening session was Silietuo Visienyü, Head GB Kiruphema Bawe. He commended the organisation for its unwavering commitment to the development and empowerment of the youth in Kiruphema. Visienyü highlighted the importance of such organisations in shaping the future of the community and applauded the efforts put forth by the Kiruphema Youth Organisation over the past 49 years.
He also emphasised the need for continued collaboration, community engagement, and the pursuit of excellence and stated, “The 49th years is a milestone that reflects not just the passage of time but the collective achievements and progress made by the Kiruphema Youth Organisation.”
