Wokha, July 26 (MExN): The Mekokla Village Council has appealed to all the Government servants posted in Mekokla village to be stationed at the village and attend their duties regularly. “The council shall initiate stern action against those govt. servant who do not heed to this appeal,” a press release from the MVC warned.
The appeal is part of a resolution taken up during a meeting of the Mekokla Village Council held at the Council Chairman’s residence on July 17, a press release informed.
The MVC has stated that all communitised department under the village shall be answerable and accountable to the village council, and all developmental activities within the village shall be rooted through the village council.
In this regard, the council informed all the members of the different communitised departments to intimate the council about their activities from time to time. It also appealed the government departments to take consent of the council for any developmental project that may be taken up in the village in near future for better understanding and co-ordination. The council also appealed the power Department under SDO (E) Sanis for deployment of a skilled linesman at Mekokla village.
The council further resolved that it will not entertain any collection/taxation from any organizations unless it is rooted through proper channel, for which it endorsed the Council Chairman & VDB Secretary for necessary action. Meanwhile, as part of the resolution, the village council shall initiate a co-ordination meeting with all the neighbouring villages in order to foster unity and understanding among the neighbours; the council endorsed the matter to MVC Chairman for necessary action.
