Third and final day of Mélange youth fest concluded with literary events which included poetry recitation, extempore, spelling bee in English and Sumi, and debate. The competition was among the youths of different age groups representing the various colonies of Zunheboto town.
The final day also witnessed a volleyball exhibition match between the Zunheboto Town Sumi Baptist Church (ZTSBC) and Sumi Baptist Church Zunheboto (SBCZ) where ZTSBC won. The exhibition match was followed by presentation and distribution of prizes. New colony Rangers were declared the overall champion of the fest, while the DC Hill Centurions took the runner-up trophy.
Vinoka K, Rotokh, event director, Mélange 2016 feels that the fest has been a great success and it has opened the eyes of the youths.
“The literary events competitions which was a first of its kind for the youth is a great platform to show off their hidden talents and the fest has also opened the eyes of the youths to various avenues where they can pursue alternative careers” he added.
The Zunheboto Town Youth Organization will continue with the ‘Awake Zunheboto’ campaign with various seminars and workshops targeting youths.

‘Ombre Minutiae’ showcases aspiring designers
Mélange 2016 saw a host of aspiring designers with the ‘Ombre Minutiae’ at Town Hall, Zunheboto, a show where young and old designers alike showcased their designs. Young models walked the ramp in the creations of designers Vivi K. awomi, Tokali K.Zhimo and Khelito I. Yeptho. The people of Zunheboto also got the opportunity to witness the work of Lomi Shiku, Beauty and Hair stylist, Nagaland, which was received with great appreciation and applause. The Green Club Zunheboto town also took the stage with young kids wearing clothes made out of recycled waste like newspapers, cassette reels, bubble wraps, jute bags and poly bags. Apart from the designers, the night also saw various artists of Zunheboto belting out cover songs of different artists. [caption id="attachment_193426" align="alignnone" width="710"]
